She was part of the first group of students in charge of seeking to disseminate, raise

She was part of the first group of students in charge of seeking to disseminate, raise awareness and promote scientific research on marine mammals in the region (GUIMM).


Belem has attended national and international conferences and has collaborations with renowned companies. She is a lover of the sea and nature.

Biologist with a specialty in natural resources from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. In 2013, she began interest in the study of marine mammals and completed her thesis analyzing the impact of tourism on the manatee population of the Caribbean, this work was presented at conferences in Mexico, Colombia and England. In 2015 she began her career as a naturalist guide on whale watching, whale shark, kayak and paddle board tours, she has worked in Mexico and Iceland sharing her knowledge and experience with hundreds of people, emphasizing the care and protection of the environment and good ecotourism practices.

Volunteered in Jaguar Rescue Center in Costa Rica, doing rehabilitation and reintroduction of diferentes species like monkeys, sloths, turtles, among nothers. María did her professional intership in Onca Exploraciones in Mazatlán as a guide of ocean Safaris as well as environmental education.

She collaborated
